IRON MOUNTAIN — A 38-year-old Iron Mountain woman was declared dead after her body was removed from the Menominee River near Twin Falls Hydroelectric Dam on Tuesday, authorities said.

Dickinson County deputies were dispatched to a possible drowning near the Badwater Bridge over the Menominee River in Breitung Township at about 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Assisting were the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team, Breitung Township Fire Department, Sagola Township Fire Department and Integrity Care EMS. Investigation is continuing, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday night in a news release.
