The Community Christmas Tree arrived Monday morning at the First National Bank & Trust’s outdoor plaza in downtown Iron Mountain in preparation for the annual Christmas Walk and Tree Lighting event Friday evening. This year’s tree was again donated by Swanson’s Big Red Barn. A crew from Bacco Construction Co. assisted with lifting the tree and stringing the lights for Santa Claus to officially turn on at 6 p.m. Friday. The event from 4 to 6 p.m. will feature a variety of activities. Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet kids at the Dickinson County Library before the walk. Bishop Baraga Catholic School will present a live nativity at the Systems Control stage across from the library.
