Mini-grant awarded
The Iron Area Health Foundation recently awarded a mini-grant in the amount of $500 to the Taproot Community Farms. The Taproot Community Farms relocated their cooperative community garden to 25 acres just off Stambaugh Avenue in Iron River. The community garden is open to anyone with a philosophy of cooperatively growing and harvesting healthy food as a group. Taproot Community Farm’s plans moving forward are to develop a commercial compost site and greenhouse in the near future on the community farm site. The IAHF is very pleased to support this healthy living initiative in our area with this mini-grant.
