ESCANABA — Bay College is investigating a reported incident of discrimination and harassment.

President Nerita Hughes said the college was notified Wednesday of a situation that took place during a third-party hosted event on the Escanaba campus. No details were given.

In a statement, Hughes said the investigation is being conducted in conjunction with Escanaba Public Safety.

“We are committed to providing a safe environment where everyone can learn, grow and thrive together, recognizing that a secure campus is foundational to achieving our shared goals and empowering our community,” Hughes said.

Those who believe they have been discriminated against, harassed or been a target for violence at Bay College should report the incident to any staff member, at the online website or by calling 800-221-2001, according to the statement.
