FLORENCE, Wis. — The relationship between children and law enforcement is a very important part of building strong communities.

The Shop with a Cop event, which takes approximately 30 children from Florence and Dickinson Counties out for dinner and holiday shopping for their families, is one of the ways local law enforcement fosters these positive relationship.

Members of the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Wisconsin State Patrol, Michigan State Patrol and Kingsford Public Safety will be hosting their year’s Shop with a Cop event on Dec. 18.

The event is made possible by donations from Florence and Dickinson County area businesses and citizens and they are again asking the public to consider supporting the program. Donations can be sent to Florence County Shop with a Cop, 3145 Miller Road, Florence, WI 54121. This year they are also accepting gift certificates as another option of donating.
