Bay Sages set meeting

ESCANABA — The Bay Sages will gather for their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. Eastern time at the Joseph Heirman University Center at Bay de Noc Community College. Refreshments will be available.

The Bay Sages is an organization established to provide educational opportunities for older adults residing in the Delta County area. Dues are $20 for the year and includes monthly meetings, coffee and rolls at regular meetings and a wide variety of educational opportunities for members. Guests and new members are welcome.

Dues are payable at the meeting or can be mailed to the Bay Sages at Bay College.

The program will be presented by Scott Knauf on the UP Honor Flight. The Honor Flight was formed in 2011. Knauf took over leadership responsibilities in 2015. To date there have been 24 missions with a total of 1,845 veterans from every county in the Upper Peninsula to view war memorials in Washington D.C. The Honor Flight is a national non-profit organization that sponsors flights for veterans who served from 1941 to 1975.

The December program will feature Tom Brayak on his motorcycle adventures in India. December will also feature the Christmas luncheon with a buffet of pork loin/bourbon meatballs and sides for $20.

Reservations should be made at the November meeting. Attendees are also asked to bring non-perishable food items to support the Bay College Food Pantry.
