The 2024-25 school year has arrived in the region. Some details from area school calendars include:

MICHIGAN

NORTH DICKINSON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

FELCH TOWNSHIP — Students began the 2024-25 school year Monday.

No classes will meet Aug. 30 until after Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 2.

Other significant days off include Deer Day on Nov. 15, Thanksgiving Break Nov. 28-29, Holiday Break from Dec. 23 through Jan. 3 and Spring Break from March 24-28.

Classes also will not be in session Feb. 17 due to a staff professional development day.

School will be out April 18-21 for Good Friday and the Easter weekend.

Graduation for seniors is set for May 16.

The final day of classes is May 23.

NORTH CENTRAL AREA SCHOOLS

POWERS — Students will start school Monday, with release at noon.

Labor Day break will be Aug. 30 through Sept. 2.

Classes will not be in session Oct. 25 for a staff professional development day.

No classes will be held on Nov. 15 for hunting season; there will also be no school Nov. 27-29 for Thanksgiving break.

Winter break is from Dec. 23 through Jan. 3.

On Feb. 10, school will not be in session for a built-in snow day and on Feb. 17 for mid-winter break.

Spring break is March 24-28. There is no school for Good Friday on April 18 and also April 21.

Graduation will be May 16.

No classes will take place May 26 for Memorial Day.

The last day of class for the 2024-2025 school year is June 4 and will only be a half day.

FOREST PARK SCHOOL DISTRICT

CRYSTAL FALLS — Students will begin classes Monday.

School will not be in session Aug. 30-Sept. 2 for Labor Day.

There also will be no school Sept. 9 and Nov. 1 for professional development days.

Thanksgiving break will be Nov. 27-29, with only a half-day of school Nov. 26.

Holiday break is set to begin Dec. 23, then extend through Jan. 3.

Feb. 10 will be a winter break day. Students will be out Feb. 28 and April 21 for professional development days.

Spring Break will be March 24-28. There also is no school on Good Friday April 18.

Graduation ceremonies for 2025 seniors are planned for May 24.

Classes will not meet May 26 for Memorial Day.

The final day for students and teachers is scheduled to be June 5.

HOLY SPIRIT CATHOLIC SCHOOL

NORWAY — The first day of classes for students is set for Tuesday.

Labor Day break will be Aug. 30-Sept. 2.

There also will be no school Oct. 17-18 and Nov. 15 for staff professional days.

School will not be in session from Nov. 28-29 for Thanksgiving, with early dismissal Nov. 27.

Christmas break will be Dec. 23 through Jan 3.

Feb. 17 will have no classes for a mid-winter break.

Spring break is March 24-28. There also is no school on Good Friday April 18 and Easter Monday April 21.

No classes will be held on May 26 for Memorial Day.

Eighth-grade graduation will be May 30.

The final day for students for the 2024-2025 school year is June 6, which will be a half-day with family picnic.

WEST IRON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

IRON RIVER — The first day of classes for students is set for Tuesday.

Labor Day break will be Aug. 30-Sept. 2.

School will not be in session from Nov. 27-29 for Thanksgiving.

Christmas break will be Dec. 23 through Jan 3.

Feb. 7 and 10 will have no classes for a mid-winter break.

Spring break is from March 24-28. There also is no school on Good Friday April 18.

Graduation will be May 23.

No classes will be held on May 26 for Memorial Day.

The final day for students for the 2024-2025 school year is June 6, which will be a half day.

BREITUNG TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT

KINGSFORD — Students will report for the first day of class Wednesday.

Students will be out Aug. 30 through Sept. 2 for Labor Day. There also will be no school Oct. 11 for a professional day.

Other days off include Nov. 15 for Deer Day and Nov. 28-29 for Thanksgiving, with early dismissal Nov. 27. Winter Break will be Dec. 23 through Jan. 3. A midwinter break day has been set for Feb. 10, and classes will not be held on Good Friday April 18. There also will be no school Feb. 17, March 14 and May 2 for professional days.

Spring Break is set for March 24-28, with early dismissal March 21.

Kingsford High School graduation is May 24.

No classes will be held on May 26 for Memorial Day.

The last day of classes for the 2024-2025 school year is June 5.

IRON MOUNTAIN PUBLIC SCHOOLS DISTRICT

IRON MOUNTAIN — Iron Mountain Public Schools will come back into session Wednesday.

Classes will break for Labor Day from Aug. 30-Sept. 2.

Schools will be closed as well on Oct. 11 and Nov. 15 for professional days.

Nov. 27 will be a half-day and classes will be out until Dec. 3 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Winter break is set for Dec. 23 through Jan. 3.

Classes will be out Jan. 31 and March 14 for professional development. School also will be closed Feb. 10 for a mid-winter break.

Spring break will be March 24-28. Classes also will not be held on Good Friday April 18.

Graduation is set for May 23.

School will be closed May 26 for Memorial Day.

The last day of class for the 2024-2025 school year is June 4.

NORWAY-VULCAN AREA SCHOOLS

NORWAY — The first day of classes for Norway-Vulcan Area Schools will be Wednesday.

Labor Day break is Aug. 30 through Sept. 2.

Classes will be out Nov. 1 for a teacher in-service and Nov. 15 for Deer Day.

Thanksgiving break will be Nov. 28-29. Winter break is set for Dec. 23 through Jan. 3.

Students will be out Jan. 17 and Feb. 10 for a teacher in-service. A winter break day is set for Feb. 17. Classes will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m. March 22 for a teacher in-service.

Spring break begins March 24 and runs through March 28. Classes also will not be held on Good Friday April 18.

Graduation for seniors takes place May 23.

School will not be in session on Memorial Day, May 26.

June 6 is the last day of classes for students.

BISHOP BARAGA CATHOLIC SCHOOL

IRON MOUNTAIN — The first day of classes for students is set for Wednesday.

Labor Day break will be Aug. 30-Sept. 2.

School will not be in session from Nov. 28-29 for Thanksgiving, with early dismissal Nov. 27.

Christmas break will be Dec. 23 through Jan 3.

Feb. 10 will have no classes for a mid-winter break.

Spring break is from March 24-28. There also is no school on Good Friday April 18 and Easter Monday April 21.

The last day for eighth-grade students will be May 20, with graduation May 22.

No classes will be held on May 26 for Memorial Day.

WISCONSIN

SCHOOL DISTRICT OF NIAGARA

NIAGARA, Wis. — The first day of school for Niagara is Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Oct. 24 will be an early dismissal due to parent/teacher conferences and there will be no classes on Oct. 25 for a staff development day.

Thanksgiving break is set for Nov. 27-29. Winter break will be Dec. 23 through Jan.1.

School will also be closed Jan. 24 for a staff development day.

Classes will be only a half day Feb. 20 for parent-teacher conferences and then out Feb. 24-21 for mid-winter break.

Spring break will be March 24-28. Classes also will not be held on Good Friday April 18.

Graduation takes place May 16.

The final day of classes is May 30.

SCHOOL DISTRICT OF FLORENCE COUNTY

FLORENCE, Wis. — The first day of classes for the Florence County district will be Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Thanksgiving break will be Nov. 25-29, holiday break Dec. 23 through Jan. 1.

Spring break is March 24-28. Classes also will not be held on Good Friday April 18.

Graduation is May 23.

School will be out May 26 for Memorial Day.

The final day of class for Florence County students is June 6.

BEECHER-DUNBAR-PEMBINE SCHOOL DISTRICT

PEMBINE, Wis. — The first day of classes for students will be Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Teacher in-service days, with no classes for all students, will take place Oct. 4 and Nov. 22.

Thanksgiving break is Nov. 25-29. Holiday break will be Dec. 23 through Jan 3.

Teacher in-service day are also scheduled for Jan. 24, March 7 and April 21.

Spring break is set for March 24-28. Classes also will not be held on Good Friday April 18.

Graduation will be May 23.

School will be out May 26 for Memorial Day.

The last day of classes will be June 3.

GOODMAN-ARMSTRONG CREEK SCHOOL DISTRICT

GOODMAN, Wis. — Classes begin Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Classes will not be in session Oct. 11-14 for in-service days.

School will be closed from Nov. 25-29 for Thanksgiving break. Winter break is Dec. 23 through Jan. 1.

In-service days for teachers have been set for Jan. 20 and Feb. 14-17.

Spring break will be March 24-28. School will also not be in session April 18-21.

Graduation is May 24.

School will be out May 26 for Memorial Day.

The 2024-25 school year is scheduled to end June 3 and will be only a half day.
