Second volume of Kingsford history goes on sale in time for centennial

KINGSFORD — The Kingsford Centennial 1923-2023 Book Committee spent the past year preparing Volume II of the city’s history — simply labeled “Kingsford Michigan 1923-2023” — and now have the books available for sale.
The book outlines the city’s first 100 years and includes the history of businesses, organizations and families, along with photos.
Volume I, titled “Kingsford: The Town FORD Built in Dickinson County, Michigan” is also available.
Prices are $20 for Volume I, $25 for Volume II or $40 for both.
They can be purchased by stopping in at Kingsford City Hall, by going online to Kingsford100thcelebation.com, or by visiting the Centennial store.
The Kingsford Centennial celebration will take place Aug. 3-5 at Lodal Park. For tickets and information, go to kingsford100thcelebration.com or stop by Kingsford City Hall. Tickets can also be purchased in person at First National Bank of Iron Mountain-Kingsford, First Bank Kingsford, and Bob & Jerry’s in Kingsford.
