KINGSFORD — Breitung Township Schools announces two administrator hirings for the 2023-24 school year

Kristina Brazeau has been appointed to serve as the Woodland Elementary School principal and will assume her new role on July 1.

Bryan Johnson was hired to serve as the Woodland Elementary assistant principal effective July 1.

“Brazeau and Johnson have big shoes to fill with the pending retirement of Darren Petschar, current Woodland Elementary principal. I’m confident they will do a great job,” said David Holmes Breitung Township Schools superintendent.

Previously, Brazeau served as the Woodland Elementary assistant principal for the past three years and was a special education teacher for 20 years prior to moving to her administrative position.

“Mrs. Brazeau has prepared herself for this position through her education, training, and experience. She has demonstrated the necessary skills to do an excellent job as the next Woodland Elementary School Principal,” said Holmes.

Johnson has been employed with the district since 1997 as a classroom teacher where he has served in multiple roles. In addition to his work in the classroom, he has served as a coach, advisor, mentor teacher, and leadership committee member.

“Mr. Johnson has prepared himself for this position through a great deal of experience and is willing to take the necessary steps to assume the responsibilities of an administrator. He has a great deal of respect from parents, community members, and his fellow staff members,” Holmes said.
