IRON MOUNTAIN — A communications firm representing ALDI confirmed Thursday the grocery store chain plans to open an Iron Mountain store later this year.

In response to a Daily News inquiry, Qrentis Burrell of Zeno Group had no other information to share but said details will be provided as they become available.

ALDI is “excited to confirm” the store plans, he said.

The international discount supermarket chain has nearly 2,000 stores across 36 states in the U.S.

The company’s website lists 103 stores in Michigan, but Escanaba is its only Upper Peninsula location. ALDI’s 81 Wisconsin locations include Marinette and Rhinelander.

Starting at $2.99/week.
