Names released in fatal shooting
IRON RIVER — The names of the individuals involved in a fatal shooting by law enforcement in Iron River in July have been released.
Iron County Prosecuting Attorney Chad DeRouin confirmed Curt Harrington, acting police chief of the Iron River Police Department, and Iron County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Mansell are the two officers who were called to an Iron River residence about 4:10 p.m. June 24 for a well-being check.
While on scene, the officers shot and killed a man later identified as 45-year-old David Ronald Bridgette.
Bridgette’s name was released July 8 by the prosecutor’s office through the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post, which has been assigned to investigate the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing. The autopsy and toxicology reports should be finalized in mid-September, DeRouin told The Daily News.
