Harkness joins ICMCF as new speech pathologist
CRYSTAL FALLS — Christine Harkness has joined the staff at the Iron County Medical Care Facility as a speech language pathologist,
Harkness has 35 years of experience and a strong dedication and passion to her profession. A native of Hancock, she has always had ties to the U.P. With property on Sunset Lake, she and her husband recently decided to make it their permanent home.
Officials noted that they are excited to offer consistent in-patient services along with offering outpatient services with the addition of a regular, on staff, SLP versus contracted work.
Harkness can work with children who are developing skills along with adults who are restoring skills.
“With already stellar occupational and physical therapy teams, the addition of Chris and the wealth of knowledge and services she can offer really places the Skyway Rehab Department in the upper echelon of treatment and rehabilitation offerings,” a spokesman said.
“After having been away from the U.P. for more than 30 years, I am excited to be back and supporting an organization and a field that I am absolutely passionate about. I’m looking very much forward to being a part of this community and supporting the residents of this facility and our new friends, neighbors and community members.”
