Dickinson prosecutor releases July report
IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Prosecuting Attorney Lisa M. Richards has released her department’s activity report for the month of July.
The office received 88 police reports from the five area law enforcement agencies and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
From those reports, the office authorized 15 felony and 46 misdemeanor warrants. There were 26 warrant requests reviewed and denied.
Warrants authorized included 15 for domestic violence or assault offenses,15 for alcohol offenses,17 for theft or property offenses, five for drug offenses, 15 for traffic offenses, one for carrying a concealed weapon, one for a weapon offense, one for child abuse, one for a stray dog related offense, one for a stalking related offense, one for a telecommunications offense and one for lying to a peace officer.
The office also drafted five juvenile delinquency petitions to the probate court.
Throughout the month, the office had 26 preliminary examinations resulting in 10 defendants being bound over to the circuit court for further proceedings, eight circuit court sentencing hearings, 12 circuit court pre-trial conferences and eight circuit court arraignments.
The office also conducted numerous hearings, probation violation hearings and show cause hearings in the district, probate and circuit courts.
