Sjoquist joins Bellin Sports Medicine, Orthopedics
IRON MOUNTAIN — Bellin Health Sports Medicine and Orthopedics has added Kingsford native Dr. Daniel Sjoquist to its team.
His practice locations will include Iron Mountain and Escanaba, giving the fellowship-trained hip and knee surgeon the opportunity to serve his home community.
Sjoquist offers hip and knee expertise in these areas, among others: total knee replacement, total hip replacement, hip and knee reconstruction, total knee arthroplasty, total hip arthroplasty, anterior approach to total hip arthroplasty and revision total hip and knee arthroplasty.
Once known for his performance on the field with the Kingsford High School football team, Sjoquist is now an orthopedic surgeon who is excited to practice where he once played.
“I love the U.P., and I always knew I wanted to return to this area once I was done with school and training,” Sjoquist said. “These communities are very important to me, and I am so pleased to care for their residents as a member of the Bellin Health team.”
A St. Norbert College graduate, Sjoquist earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin and did his orthopedic surgery residency at University of Michigan Hospitals GME. He completed his fellowship in reconstructive surgery (adult) at Beaumont Health System in downstate Michigan.
Sjoquist’s extended connections to the U.P. are many. His wife, Jordan (Zeni) Sjoquist, also is from the area; they have three children. He works closely with Bellin Health Physician Assistant Benjamin Moreau, a Kingsford native as well. The pair practice in Iron Mountain and Escanaba, Mich., as well as Marinette, Oconto, Green Bay and West De Pere in Wisconsin.
Sjoquist enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
