MARQUETTE — Every year the Marquette Choral Society considers whether and to whom to present the annual Upper Peninsula Choral Leadership Award, launched in 1991 in celebration of its then-20th anniversary.

If awarded, the award will be presented at the Spring Concert of the Marquette Choral Society on April 19-20.

They invite the public to submit nominations for this award, which must be sent in writing — post or email — and must show that the nominee has provided at least 10 years of service to choral music in the Upper Peninsula.

Excellence in teaching, conducting, and/or support for quality choral music are all considered. Awards may be presented posthumously; no more than two awards per year can be granted.
