IRON MOUNTAIN — American Association of University Women Iron Mountain/Kingsford Branch is accepting applications for its Non-Traditional Scholarship.

AAUW is an organization whose mission is to promote equality for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.

In support of this mission, the Iron Mountain/Kingsford Branch is offering the Non-Traditional Scholarship to women living in Dickinson and Iron counties in Michigan, Florence County in Wisconsin and Niagara, Wis., and surrounding areas. Applicants must be age 22 years or older and pursuing a certificate program, an associate degree, a bachelor’s degree program or additional professional or technical certifications not tied to a specific degree program and with costs not reimbursed by the recipient’s employer.

The intent of this scholarship is to open the door for a new or returning student who has been away from education for some time and has chosen to return to post-secondary studies to improve employability potential or advancement in her chosen field. Past recipients of this scholarship may not reapply.

One $2,500 scholarship winner will be chosen based on a variety of factors, including financial need, likelihood of success, confirmation of enrollment in a post-secondary program for fall 2025 and a personal essay.
