The Goodman Volunteer Fire Department recently received a $1,000 check from the Goodman-Armstrong Creek Lions Club. This all volunteer-force of 20 firefighters and administrative staff was originally founded in 1966. They are responsible for the townships of Goodman and Armstrong Creek in Wisconsin. They also provide mutual support to Marinette, Florence and Forest counties and, when necessary, the entire state of Wisconsin. Their funding comes primarily from donations. These funds are used for supplies, repairs and maintenance for vehicles and new equipment when their budget allows. Their “wish list” includes replacing some older apparatus. Last year they purchased extrication equipment using funds from donations and fundraisers. Goodman Volunteer Fire Department can be followed on Facebook. The Lions appreciate these first responders and their service to the community.
