Area students named to college honor rolls

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has announced students who received academic honors in the fall/winter term.

Students who earn a 4.0 grade-point average, which represents all A grades, receive highest honors. High honors go to students earning 3.99 to 3.75 GPA. Honors are given to students earning 3.74 to 3.50 GPA.

All were full-time students in the fall/winter term, earning 12 or more credits of graded coursework. This list includes students attending all four UW-Green Bay campuses — Green Bay, Marinette, Manitowoc and Sheboygan.

STEVENS POINT, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,600 undergraduate students for attaining high grade-point averages during the fall semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.

Full-time undergraduates who earned GPAs of 3.90 to 4.0 — 4.0 equals straight A — are given the highest honors designation.

High honor citations go to those with GPAs grade from 3.75 to 3.89 and honor recognition is accorded to those with GPAs from 3.50 to 3.74.

Students who received honors include:

MANCHESTER, N.H. — These students were named to the Southern New Hampshire University fall 2024 president’s list. The fall term run from September to December.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and higher for the reporting term are named to the president’s list.

Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired eight-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

Local students include:

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Christie Olson of Iron Mountain has been named to Southern New Hampshire University’s fall 2024 dean’s list. The fall terms run from September to December.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 to 3.699 for the reporting term are named to the dean’s list.

Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits over each 16-week term or paired eight-week terms grouped in fall, winter/spring, and summer.

DEWITT, Mich. — Zoe Mickelson, 12, of DeWitt, Mich., was inducted into National Junior Honor Society in a ceremony at St. Gerald Catholic Church in Lansing, Mich. NJHS requires an “A” average.

She participates in Scouts of American, competitive cheerleading as a “flyer,” sideline cheer at her school and plays clarinet in jazz and junior high band.

She has two sisters and one brother. Her older sister, Sofia, also received this award in 2022.

She is the daughter of Brian and Kristi Kujala-Mickelson of DeWitt and the granddaughter of Jack and Diana Peterson-Kujala of Orleans, Mich., formerly of Kingsford.

ADELPHI, Md. — Adam Stewart of Iron Mountain was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2024 term at University of Maryland Global Campus.

To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earn a grade-point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

Stewart earned a bachelor of science summa cum laude/president’s list in human resources management from University of Maryland Global Campus in fall 2024.

He was one of nearly 5,900 students worldwide who earned degrees from UMGC in the fall 2024 term.

MILWAUKEE — These students have been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2024 semester at Marquette University in Milwaukee.

To make the dean’s list, students must have earned at least 12 credits for the fall 2024 semester and have no disqualifying grades. The GPA threshold varies by college — for the College of Education and the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, undergraduate students must have at least a 3.7 to be named to the dean’s list.

The undergraduate GPA requirement is 3.5 for these colleges: the Diederich College of Communication, the College of Business Administration, the College of Health Sciences, the Opus College of Engineering and the College of Nursing. All other programs have a 3.75 GPA minimum.

Iron River — Robbie Quayle, bachelor of arts in history.

MADISON, Wis. –The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the dean’s list for the fall semester of the 2024-2025 academic year.

Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester.

Each university school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction. Most call the honor “dean’s list”, but some grant the “Dean’s Honor List” and “Dean’s High Honor List.”

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Brookelyn Coan of Kingsford has been named to dean’s list at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

The term grade-point average requirement for University Honor Roll is 3.3; the term GPA requirement for Dean’s List is 3.75 out of a possible 4.0.

To qualify, a student must have been enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits. There can be no individual grades below a “C” and no incomplete or non-reported grades at the time the process is run.
