Members of the Norway High School Youth Advisory Council, known as YAC, met with Dickinson Area Community Foundation Executive Director Tamara Juul to discuss its 2024 grant applications. The three non-profit organizations included Grace Methodist Church of Norway’s lunch pack program, with a request of $2,000; Friends of the Dickinson County Fair security project, with a request of $6,535.67; and Girls Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes, with a request of $1,500. Juul noted they group debated pros and cons for each of the three non-profit applicants. YAC members had to make some tough decisions with a total of $10,035.67 and $3,367.00 available. The funds were started with a matching grant from the Kellogg Foundation for youth-related programs. Recipients will be awarded in February.
