Iron County Genealogical Society meets Feb. 6
IRON RIVER — The Iron County Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in the J. Patrick White Conference Room of the West Iron District Library.
The group will take a trip down Memory Lane watching a video, “A Millennium of Changes (Iron River, Stambaugh and Mineral Hills).” Five communities are in the vicinity of the Iron River. This video consists of photographs of three of them that became one in the year 2000.
Pictures include the major industry-mining, other occupations, the pioneers, the schools, churches, hospitals and transportation. It was produced by Marcia and Harold Bernhardt from Iron County Museum in Caspian, with a grant from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs, 2000. The group appreciates the family of Luella Williams for sharing this video.
Meetings are open to all and take place monthly in the J. Patrick White Conference Room of the West Iron District Library. For more information, go to Facebook, Genealogy Iron County MI.
