GAC Lions award scholarships
GOODMAN, Wis. — The Goodman Armstrong Creek Lions Club presented academic scholarships to two graduating seniors in the Class of 2024. Katelyn Kalkofen and Jasmine Slawinski both received scholarships for $1,000.
Kalkofen, daughter of Sally and Jody Kalkofen, was the valedictorian of the class.
She was a member and president of the National Honor Society, vice president of student council and a class officer all four years of high school.
During high school, Kalkofen competed in volleyball, serving as varsity team captain; golf; and was a member of the ice fishing team.
She also participated in the Healthy Youth Coalition, where she was vice president; Badger Girls State; Trees for Tomorrow; forensics; drama; and band. She was also on the Homecoming and prom courts.
Kalkofen is attending the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay to pursue a degree in nursing.
Slawinski, daughter of Jamie and Jason Slawinski, was salutatorian of the class.
She was a member and president of the National Honor Society, president of the student council and a class officer all four years of high school.
During high school, she competed in varsity golf, volleyball and was a member of the ice fishing team.
Slawinski also participated in the Healthy Youth Coalition, where she was president and vice president; Badger Girls State; Trees for Tomorrow; forensics; drama; band; solos and ensembles; and the automotive class.She was also in the Homecoming and prom courts. She took dance lessons for 15 years and some day would like to open or work at a dance studio.
Slawinski is pursuing an education degree at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
