Fence Fire Department donation
The Fence Volunteer Fire Department recently received a $1,000 check from the Goodman Armstrong Creek Lions Club. This all-volunteer force of 11 firefighters was originally founded in 1984. They are responsible for the 92-square-mile Town of Fence and also provide mutual support to Florence, Goodman and, when necessary, the entire state of Wisconsin. Their funding comes primarily from donations. Funds are used for supplies, repairs and maintenance for vehicles, and new equipment when the budget allows. Their “wish list” includes new Turn Out Gear, or TOG, as they have always had used TOG. The department can be followed on Facebook at “Fence Volunteer Fire Department.” The Lions appreciate these first responders and their service to the community.
