Niagara Tree Lighting Friday
NIAGARA, Wis. — The Niagara Tree Lighting ceremony is planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Heights Park.
The tree will be lit at 5:30 p.m. and Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance. There will be free hot chocolate, cookies, chili and hog dogs. The event is being coordinated by Bryan and Shelby DeForge.
Also that evening, the Niagara Christmas Village, a walk-through display, will be lit up. The Christmas Village is a fundraiser for the Niagara Area Emergency Unit and other local charities.
The public is invited to walk through the displays in Heights Park and vote for their favorite display. Each display has a local charity associated with it.
Each vote costs $1, with the money raised going to the charity. Voting boxes will be at City Hall and several businesses throughout the city.
