Hope for the Holidays

Betsy Bloom/Daily News photo

The Daily News recently made a $250 donation to Forever Friendship Drop-In and Hope Church of Iron Mountain for their “Hope for the Holidays” series of events to provide “a safe, non-stigmatizing environment” for Thanksgiving and other holidays into the new year for those dealing with mental health or substance abuse issues. These events included Hope Church, 200 E. B St., opening its doors for a potluck meal and other activities on Thanksgiving Day. Events also were planned for Christmas at the church and Hanukkah and Kwanzaa at the Forever Friendship Drop-In location, 501 S. Carpenter Ave. Suite D in Kingsford. From left are Tina Russell, director’s assistant at Forever Friendship Drop-In, Daily News advertising representative David Kopp and Talitha Dahlquist, executive director of Forever Friendship Drop-In. The donation came from a portion of the proceeds from The Daily News’ Thanksgiving advertising section published Nov. 27.

Starting at $2.99/week.
