IRON MOUNTAIN — Sweeten the holiday season and make a meaningful difference by participating in a special bake sale event in support of Alzheimer’s awareness and research.

Hosted by Frog Country 101.5 and First National Bank & Trust, the event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the lobby of the downtown bank.

Featuring delicious treats from local favorites like The Bakery Shoppe, Kandy’s Cakery, Michaela May’s Bakery, The Cure, Niagara Main Street, the Chippewa Club and more, the sale will offer a variety of baked goods that are perfect for holiday gifting or indulging.

Special luminaries will also be available for a donation.

All proceeds will directly benefit the Dickinson Iron Community Services Agency locally, and the Alzheimer’s Association’s efforts to fund the fight against the disease.

“The Walk for Alzheimer’s is no longer happening in Iron Mountain, and they reached out to me to see if I would like to help with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Longest Day campaign,” said Trisha Peterson, general manager of Results Broadcasting. “I certainly said yes, as it’s a tribute to my late husband, Dan Peterson. Dan had early-onset dementia and passed away three years ago on Dec. 22. The holidays are a tough time for me now, and hopefully this will help brighten that time.”

“Alzheimer’s touches the lives of so many in our community and around the world,” said Matt Lutz, chief financial officer of First National Bank & Trust. “This holiday season, we’re inviting our neighbors to help us outshine the darkness of Alzheimer’s by enjoying a sweet treat while contributing to this important cause.”

Don’t miss this sweet opportunity to give back. Bring friends, family and colleagues, and enjoy a tasty bite while making a lasting impact.
