IRON MOUNTAIN – Brittany Lee Pancheri and Chad Raymond DeGroot exchanged wedding vows on Oct. 5, 2013, in a 1 p.m. ceremony at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Two celebrants performed the wedding, Fr. Dan Zaloga, along with the groom’s uncle, Fr. Ken DeGroot. Fr. Ken gave a very personal and engaging homily about his nephew, Chad and his new beginning in life with Brittany.
The readings were done by Brendan Pancheri, brother of the bride, and Juliane Moldenhauer, friend of the bride from London, England.
A rehearsal dinner was prepared by the El Capitan in Spread Eagle, Wis., where a family-style dinner was served.
Following the wedding ceremony, the bride and groom entertained guests at the Pine Grove Country Club in Iron Mountain where a sit-down dinner was served. The club was decorated with a rustic theme including assorted ivory and blush roses, hydrangea, and other flowers, along with tree disk table centerpieces and other decor made by the groom and his father.
After dinner, cakes prepared by Andrea’s Sweet Designs were served in three delicious flavors and guests enjoyed the rest of the evening dancing.
Guests traveled from London, England, Sydney, Australia, Texas, Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan for their special day.
Maid of honor was Mary Oliva, friend of the bride, of Chicago. Bridesmaids were Heather Villa, Julia Villa, Jamie Couzens, Anna Powers, and Kristi St. Arnauld, friends of the bride.
Best man was Travis Veraghen of Green Bay, Wis. Groomsmen were Dan Michaud, Kevin Pollard, Ben Macaux, Robert Pirkola, and Barry Cory, friends of the groom.
Ushers were Brendan Pancheri, brother of the bride, and Jason DeGroot, brother of the groom.
The bride wore an ivory English netting gown with a chapel train that included lace overlays and lace scallops at the hem.
The bridesmaids wore navy lace dresses with a boat neckline.
The groom wore a dark blue suit with an ivory tie.
The groomsmen wore gray suits with navy blue ties.
The bride is a graduate of Central Michigan University and received her C.P.A. license from the state of Illinois. She is currently a finance manager at McDonald’s corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill.
The groom is a graduate of Central Michigan University and The John Marshall Law School. He is currently an attorney at Laner Muchin, Ltd. in Chicago.
The bride is the daughter of Scott and Brenda Pancheri of Iron Mountain, and the groom is the son of William and Trudy DeGroot of Florence, Wis.
The bride and groom honeymooned in the Hawaiian islands after the wedding.
The couple currently reside in Elmhurst, Ill.
The bride and groom will be celebrating their first anniversary this weekend.
