Iron County virus exposure advisory issued

IRON RIVER — The Dickinson-Iron District Health Department has identified Firebrick Bar and Grill at Young’s Golf and Recreation in Iron River as a site of potential exposure to COVID-19.

Local residents visiting this location on Friday or Saturday may be at a higher risk for exposure if larger crowds were present and masking and social distancing guidelines were not consistently followed, said Daren Deyaert, health officer. The hours were from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday.

“DIDHD is recommending that anyone who visited this location during the identified time frame above, monitor yourself for symptoms of COVID-19 and contact your medical provider should you become symptomatic,” Deyaert said.

Symptoms will typically appear within 2 to 14 days of the exposure.

“The establishment has been cooperative, has patron safety in mind, and should not be avoided due to this past potential exposure,” Deyaert added.

DIDHD continues to recommend adhering to all social distancing and hygienic practices needed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 including wearing a face mask, avoiding large gatherings, and maintaining social distancing whenever around other people. Avoid sharing personal items like utensils, water bottles, and cell phones.

Starting at $3.50/week.
