$14M FedEx facility at Flint airport
AP
FLINT (AP) — A $14 million sorting facility for FedEx Express is opening at Flint’s Bishop International Airport.
A ceremony was scheduled for today to cut the ribbon on the warehouse, which is part of the airport’s new $30 million intermodal facility.
The Flint Journal reported FedEx already operates at the airport and the new facility will not immediately create jobs. But airport boosters said the facility may allow FedEx to expand its operations quickly in the future.
The warehouse will house FedEx’s sorting and routing operations for truck and aircraft cargo transfers.
FedEx Express is a part of Memphis, Tenn.-based FedEx Corp.
