ALBION, Mich. (AP) — Albion College has said its staff and students met the challenge to take 100 million steps in October.
The campaign was part of National Walking Month. The college said 651 people reported taking 100,944,461 steps from Oct. 1-31.
Physical education professor Tom Johnson said the campaign reached beyond his ‘‘wildest dreams.’’ He said he gave out every pedometer he had and still got asked for more.
The college said its goal was to get 500 members of the college community to walk at least 6,500 steps per day apiece. That would have logged 100,750,000 steps during October.
