Police say drunk driver backs into cruiser

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — Grand Rapids police say a man suspected of driving drunk was arrested after backing into a cruiser following a bar fight.

Officers responded to the fight early Monday at Billy's Lounge.

Lt. Scott Weitzel tells The Grand Rapids Press ( ) that as officers pulled up, a man driving a vehicle with several others inside backed into their cruiser.

No one was hurt.

Weitzel says the driver of the car heading in reverse was arrested for outstanding warrants and on suspicion of operating while intoxicated.

Those in the car are believed to have been involved in the fight and were trying to leave.
