Brianne Nicole Johnson and Michael John Phillips, together with their families, are pleased to announce their engagement. The bride-to-be is a 2002 graduate of Kingsford High School and received her bachelor of arts degree in anthropology from Northwestern University. After serving in AmeriCorps, Brianne received her master’s in educational policy and leadership from Marquette University. She currently works with students and community partners as a service-learning coordinator at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Michael is a 2001 graduate of Marquette High School and received his bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Michigan’s Ross School. He later earned an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in 2010. He works as an engagement manager specializing in mergers and acquisitions with the global management consulting firm A.T. Kearney. Brianne and Michael met as young children and reconnected as adults in 2012. A winter wedding is planned for January in Marquette. The ceremony will take place at St. Peter Cathedral followed by an intimate reception at the Regional History Museum. The couple currently resides in Ann Arbor with their cat, Gabby. The two are thrilled to be joined in marriage and plan their honeymoon in Key West and Panama.
