Forest Park (1-0) at Norway (1-0), 6:30 p.m. - Coach Dave Graff's offense - Lee Graff ran for 222 yards and four touchdowns - stood out in the Trojans' 48-18 rout of Bark River-Harris.
"He is a very strong runner," Broncos coach Al Stenberg said. "We had a hard time stopping him. Most of the time he broke tackles."
Forest Park's defense also drew praise, applying constant pressure to quarterback Jorden Sodergren.
"Forest Park doesn't hesitate to bring everybody," Stenberg said. "He threw well under pressure."
Dave Graff and Norway Coach Bob Madigan were college football teammates at Michigan Tech.
Newberry (1-0, 0-0) at North Dickinson (1-0, 0-0), Mid-Eastern, 6 p.m. - Sophomore quarterback John Paramski, cousin of West Iron County standout Max Maloney, leads the Indians.
Paramski tallied 230 yards (141 rushing, 95 passing, 4 TD) when Newberry knocked off Harbor Springs 47-6. Rob Gibson also contributed with 110 yards rushing on 12 trips.
West Iron County (1-0, 0-0) at L'Anse (1-0, 0-0), West PAC, 6 p.m. - The host Purple Horners edged Houghton 16-14 in their home opener at newly-dedicated Volunteer Field. L'Anse forced two Houghton turnovers in their own territory in the fourth quarter.
Houghton had the ball inside the L'Anse 25-yard line four times in the second half, but the Hornets allowed them zero points.
Munising (0-1, 0-0) at North Central (0-0, 0-0), Mid-Eastern, 6 p.m. - Coach Kevin Bellefeuil's Jets open the season after a first-week bye.
Florence (0-1) at Suring (0-2), 7 p.m. - The host Eagles have suffered losses to Laona-Wabeno, 6-0, and Crandon, 36-28.
Northern Elite (0-2) at Peshtigo (0-2), NLC-M&O crossover, 7 p.m. - The Bulldogs have lost to Kewanunee and Bonduel (2-0, coached by Niagara grad James Westrich).
Bonduel outgained Peshtigo 321-150.
NOTES: Justin Brilinski racked up five touchdowns in Menominee's 56-0 rout of Antigo. The Maroons held the Red Robins to three first downs. "We like to bring pressure," Menominee defensive coordinator Dave Mathieu said. "We feel that's better than sitting back and covering. Attack instead of react." ... Gladstone defeated Gwinn 34-8 for its first win since August 2012. It was also the career victory for Coach Cody Kangas ... Stephenson, with just 14 players suited up, bowed to Westwood 40-16 ... Gogebic (Bessemer-Wakefield co-op) rushed for 427 yards in downing Hancock 36-14. Three Gogebic backs each went over 100 yards although Miners coach Mark Mazzon said McAfee Field's artificial surface was "kind of slippery."
