MARINETTE, Wis. - Professional Los Angeles filmmaker Michael McGuire will offer a workshop in on-camera performance to men and women of any experience level on Sept. 27-28 at University of Wisconsin-Marinette.
This exciting workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days.
A Marinette native, McGuire is planning to shoot a feature film in the Marinette area in 2015.
During this eight-hour workshop, men and women of all experience levels and aged 10 or above will learn about on-camera performance, the grammar of cinema, perform scenes in front of the camera (either solo or with acting partners), and receive a digital file of their on-camera performance at the end of the class.
As an actor, Michael McGuire has performed in more than 50 theater productions across the U.S., on television in "Law & Order: SVU" and the History Channel series, "Breaking Vegas," and in the feature film, "16-Love."
As a filmmaker, McGuire has written and directed several award-winning short films and produced six feature films that have played at major international film festivals, in theaters, and on television, including Electrick Children, Holiday High School Reunion, Guadalupe the Virgin, and Deadly Spa.
He holds a bachelor of arts in history and theatre from University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master of fine arts degree from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, where he currently resides with his wife.
