MARINETTE, Wis. - A Lena, Wis. man sustained minor injuries in a small plane crash Tuesday near Crivitz, Wis.

Emergency responders were called to a small plane crash Tuesday morning in a field near Crivitz, Wis. The pilot, a Lena, Wis. man, sustained minor injuries.
The incident occurred at 11:18 a.m. in a farm field off of Pheasant Drive in the town of Stephenson, Wis.
According to Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve, the plane was believed to be en route to Iron Mountain from an unknown location when it developed engine problems and crashed.
Sauve said that the pilot, a 66-year-old Lena man, complained of back pain, but was conscious and alert. He was transported by the Crivitz Rescue Squad to Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette for treatment.
Sheriff's department officials have contacted aviation authorities regarding the incident. The scene will be secured until the investigation is complete.
