CRYSTAL FALLS - An Iron River man who stands accused of committing a series of crimes last June appeared in Iron County Trial Court on Monday to face two additional charges.
Jordan Luckey, 22, waived a preliminary exam and pleaded not guilty to one felony count of home invasion-second degree and one felony count of larceny in a building on Monday.
A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for April 7 in Iron County Trial Court.
Luckey's co-defendant, Brittany Marie Marvin, 23, of Iron River also pleaded not guilty to the two felony charges after waiving a preliminary exam. Marvin's pre-trial is scheduled for March 31.
Luckey also faces more than a dozen other felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from a series of incidents that occurred last June.
On June 9, 2013, Luckey is accused of unlawfully taking a vehicle; resisting and obstructing a police officer; driving while intoxicated, without a license and with an open container of alcohol; failing to report an accident; contributing to the delinquency of a minor; harboring a runaway; and breaking and entering without an owner's permission.
On June 10, 2013, Luckey is accused of resisting and obstructing a police officer.
On June 11, 2013, Luckey is accused of attempting to break out of the Iron County Jail; damaging jail property; resisting and obstructing a police officer; and attempting to escape lawful custody while being treated at Northstar Health System in Iron River.
Deputies from the Iron County Sheriff's Department said that they brought Luckey, who was an inmate at the time, to Northstar Health System for medical attention.
While being treated, he allegedly escaped custody and fled on foot to nearby Ice Lake, attempting to swim away.
According to police, Luckey eventually swam back to shore and was located by authorities about an hour later.
A trial set for June 10 through 12 will deal with the June 9, 2013 charges; another trial set for July 22 through 23 will deal with the June 10, 2013 charges; and a third trial set for Aug. 19 through 20 will cover the June 11, 2013 charges.
