Sportsmen’s supper in IM

Workshops, archery range to be featured at Central School

KINGSFORD - Family Baptist of Church of Kingsford will host its annual Sportsmen's Extravaganza on Saturday, March 1, in the Central Middle School gymnasium and cafeteria in Iron Mountain.

A number of topics on outdoor hunting and fishing activities will be covered. The workshops, archery range and several hands-on activities and displays begin at 3 p.m.

Workshops will include "Electronic High Tech Bass," "Waterfowl Hunting," "Smallmouth Savvy" and "Bass Fishing Plastics."

Randy Gustafson of Northwoods Wilderness Outfitters will be giving shooting instructions at the indoor archery range. Instructions are available for men, women, boys and girls.

Ken Huven will have a fly-casting clinic with an opportunity for everyone to try their hand at fly-casting. Conservationist Walt Summers will give lessons on identifying animal prints in the wild.

Dinner starts at 5 p.m., followed by the general session, "Family Fishing Fun," with Ross Crowe, which begins at 6:15 p.m.

Door prizes donated by numerous local merchants will be awarded at the close of the event.
