Kingsford girls basketball coach Mike Cross, short a player and looking for somebody to imitate Forest Park star Lexi Gussert in practice, turned to the school staff for help.

Lisa Harry, Kingsford track coach and eighth-grade teacher, filled the bill superbly.

"We haven't had the numbers and I'm done being the '10th girl," quipped Cross, who finally fielded a full roster this week. "Lisa Harry has been helping us out and running with them.

"Lisa Harry still has game. We couldn't stop her."

As Lisa Roell, she starred for North Dickinson and once topped the U.P. in scoring. She played at the University of Minnesota ...

Madeline Walsh, daughter of Kathy and 1981 Iron Mountain grad Tom Walsh, wore No 15 for Lehigh University women's soccer because "it was my dad's football jersey number" with the Mountaineers.
