MENOMINEE - Iron Mountain's Jared Gauthier recorded his 100th career high school wrestling victory in the Menominee Super Duals Saturday.

Gauthier (130), Alex Edwards (125) and James Christiansen (189), making his season debut, posted 5-0 records on the day.

Gauthier, who owns a 100-9 career record, notched a pin in the last match against Norway for the milestone.

Coach Brandon Rutter's Mountaineers registered a 4-1 team mark, beating Bark River-Harris, 42-24; Green Bay Preble, 45-24; Kingsford, 42-21, and Marinette, 42-36, and losing to Norway, 50-18.

Iron Mountain competes in the Escanaba Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 4.

Norway rolled over five Menominee Super Dual foes - Menominee, 84-0; Gwinn, 83-0; Marinette, 77-6; Green Bay Preble, 69-6, and Iron Mountain, 55-18.

"We prepared well as a team for being a short week due to the holidays and being down six wrestlers," Norway Coach Nick Burklund said. "All the kids made weight which coming off a holiday and short week of practice was pretty impressive.

"We won this super dual last year so the kids went into the weekend confident and knowing what we as coaches expected of them and they executed it.

In the individual matches, Zac DeCremer went 5-0 and is off to a 15-0 record. Dylan Hoffart (14-0) also picked up five wins.

"Dylan had a big match against Gwinn's Alex Anderson and pinned him in the third period," Burklund noted.

Other Norway marks:

Tim Huddleston, 5-0; Donny Houle, 4-1; Mike Tomcszak, 4-1; Tanner Gonzalez, 5-0; Zavier Gonzalez, 5-0; Cole Gonzalez, 5-0; Cody Spade, 3-1; Jake Julian, 1-0; Pat Guffey, 3-2; Jorden Neumann, 4-1; Kasey Siegle, 5-0; Taylor Bonetti, 5-0; Travis Moon, 5-0, and Joe Comstock (1-1 in jayvees matches).

Norway also wrestles at Escanaba Saturday.

"We will see most of the U.P. schools there so we will be working and preparing hard all week," Burklund said.

Kingsford produced a 3-2 record, with wins over Bark River-Harris, 30-18; Menominee, 30-12, and Gwinn, 36-12, and losses to Preble, 27-24, and Iron Mountain.

Flivvers' Quintin Pratt (130, 135) won all five of his matches. Teammates Seth Collins (145, 152) and Zach Jones (103) also took five with forfeits mixed in.

Kingsford wrestles at Negaunee Thursday and Escanaba Saturday.
