AMBERG, Wis. - Matthew L. Bucheger, 67, of Amberg, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013.
He was born in Park Falls, Wis. on May 20, 1946, son of Henry and Mary Ann (Marunycz) Bucheger. Matt served his country honorably in the Army during Vietnam. He loved hunting, spending time outdoors in the wilderness and Polka dancing. He was always health conscious, taking vitamins and eating healthy. Most importantly he wanted to feel free, he loved his independence and found it in Northeastern Wisconsin.
Matt is survived by two children, Kevin (fiance, Melissa Crevis) Bucheger of Georgia and Lori (David) Krings of Minnesota; five grandchildren, Elaina, Megan, Wyatt and soon to be Rachel and Jessica; 12 brothers and sisters; and is further survived by numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; ex-wife, Phyllis; and an infant sibling.
Funeral service will be at noon on Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Pembine, Wis., with Father Matt Settle officiating.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at church on Saturday. Full military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 461.
