MARSHFIELD, Wis. - LaVerne M. Gadow, age 92, of 175 N. Section St., Nekoosa, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Ministry St. Joseph Hospital in Marshfield, Wis.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Rev. Carl Kummer will officiate. Entombment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

LaVerne was born on March 18, 1921, in Niagara, Wis., to Adolph and Luella (Bourassa) Broullire. She married Arnold Gadow on Oct. 5, 1973. He died in 2003. LaVerne was employed as a secretary at the Sage Nursing Home in Milwaukee for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
She is survived by one son, Thomas (Jean) Strand of Nekoosa; one daughter, Patricia Strand of Milwaukee; one granddaughter, Angela (Christopher) Kautzer of Nekoosa; three great grandchildren, Sean Stallings, Ally Stallings, and Carson Kautzer; one sister, Lucille Villa of Iron Mountain; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Gadow, her parents, granddaughter, Michelle Strand Stallings, and former husband, Gerald Strand.
