CASPIAN - Several speakers will present interesting and knowledgeable information at The Daily News Senior Expo in Iron County on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The Senior Expo will be held at Iron County Historical Museum in Caspian.
Corky Deroeck, advertising manager at The Daily News, said the doors open at 9:15 a.m. The first speaker begins at 10 a.m. with the last speaker finishing by 3 p.m.
Speakers include representatives from NorthStar Health System, Dickinson County Healthcare System, Nash Funeral Home & Cremation Services, First National Bank & Trust Co., ManorCare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and Marquette General Hospital.
Besides the informative speakers, the Senior Expo features free hot lunch by Dabeck Catering, free goodie bags and free door prizes including $200 in grocery certificates.
Additionally, free tours of the Iron County Historical Museum will be available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This is a free event for senior citizens. However, due to limited seating, a ticket must be presented for each attendee.
Free tickets for the event are available at TDS Crystal Falls Healthmart on U.S. 2 in Crystal Falls, The Corner Drug Store at 128 Genesse Street in Iron River, Iron River Senior Center at 814 4th Ave., and The Daily News office at 215 E. Ludington St. in Iron Mountain.
Those who wish to attend and did not receive a ticket should be at the event at 9:50 a.m.
Attendees will be admitted without a ticket if there are any vacant seats.
"The event promises to be very informative for all those in attendance," Deroeck said.
