Siren testing in area Oct. 29

October 19, 2013
The Daily News

IRON MOUNTAIN - We Energies will be conducting annual testing of its Flood Emergency Warning System sirens in the area on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

The sirens are located at Michigamme Falls, Twin Falls, Big Quinnesec and White Rapids dams along the Menominee River.

In the event of an actual emergency, residents immediately downstream of the dams should evacuate the area immediately and await instructions from the County Emergency Management Agency.

The siren system is used for flood emergencies and is not used as warnings for severe weather.

The tests will last approximately one minute for each siren.
