NORWAY - Dorothy Jean Dickinson, 87, of Norway, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Kingsford.
She was born in Cass City on Oct. 20, 1925, the daughter of the late Harold and Mable (Albrandt) Dickinson.
Dorothy graduated from Cass City High School in 1943, Chicago School of Nursing in 1957 and received her LPN degree from Bay de Noc Community College in 1966.

She worked at Anderson Memorial Hospital in Norway for several years. She was a dedicated nurse who took pride in the compassionate care she provided to her patients. She was an angel of mercy whose sense of humor was appreciated by many.
Dorothy was a member of the American Legion Post 323 Auxiliary of Lehigh Acres, Fla.
She enjoyed golfing, fishing, cooking, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Harold "Jim" Leitch of Oconto, Wis., Joellyn (Jim) McGuire of Bridgeview, Ill., Greg (Deb) Vargo of Waucedah and Dawn Beckerson of Kingsford; grandchildren, Eric and Brian Leitch, Jodi Johnson, Erin (Joe) Pierucki, Gregory Vargo, Levi Beckerson and Sara Girard; great-grandchildren, Jason, Robert, Hailey, Kendall, Peyton, Caleb, Cole and Liam; brother, Rev. Richard Turner; sister, Judy Esckilsen; many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Ronald and Donald Dickinson and Harlan Dickinson; sisters, Gladys Anthes and Marion Ozorowicz.
Family will greet friends on Friday, Sept. 20, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Norway.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 6 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Irene White officiating.
Interment will be at the Elkland Township Cemetery in Cass City at a later date.
