WAKEFIELD - Two people were arrested on multiple felony drug charges Thursday night after a traffic stop in Wakefield.
Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at 11:48 p.m. Thursday. After a search of the vehicle and persons, several illegal items were found, including components of a methamphetamine lab.
The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old male from Hurley, Wis., is charged with possession of methamphetamine, manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and operating under the influence of drugs.
The passenger, a 23-year-old female from Hurley, is charged with possession of methamphetamine and manufacture of methamphetamine.
Both subjects were lodged at the Gogebic County Sheriff's Department.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET).
