MARQUETTE - Kingsford overcame a "little sluggish start" to dispatch Marquette 7-1 in high school girls tennis Wednesday.
"The girls responded and came back," Flivvers coach Mark Shanks said.
Kingsford juggled its lineup with Katy Hicks moving from No. 4 to 3 singles while freshman Tori Walters made her debut at No. 4 singles.

Kingsford High School’s Kate Lamy runs up to the net to get a quick hit back to her Marquette Senior High School opponents during a doubles match Wednesday at the MSHS tennis courts in Marquette.
"Tori was in a good battle," Shanks said of the 6-4, 6-4 setback to Taylor Swajanen.
Santina Bianco, normally at No. 3 singles, joined Ali VanRemortel at No. 2 in helping the Flivvers sweep doubles.
"Santina is a nice, crafty doubles player," Shanks said. "It's nice to have her versatility."
Marquette also lost to Westwood, 6-2, on Wednesday.
"It was a tough day," Redettes head coach Derek Sandstrom said. "Kingsford is tough from top to bottom. They're talented and experienced.
"Our girls played just their fourth match of the season today and saw some of the toughest competition they'll see all year."
The Flivvers (5-0) host Westwood today and will play a make-up match with Escanaba on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
