Carol Trepanier

LORETTO - Carol Ann Trepanier, 66, of Loretto, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Tendercare Health Center in Munising.

She was born on May 5, 1947, in Norway, daughter of the late Kenneth and Esther (Synkelma) Skowlund.

Carol graduated from Oak Creek High School in Oak Creek, Wis., in 1965.

She moved back to Norway with her parents in the 1970s, and worked for them at the Whuh Bar for several years.

Carol became an aide for the Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District (ISD) while attending Bay de Noc Community College before transferring to Northern Michigan University. After graduating, Carol became a teacher for the ISD for 19 years, retiring in 2007.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Norway.

Carol is survived by her son, Andrew (Tiffany) Trepanier of Fort Hood, Texas; grandchildren, Bailey, Riley and Arianna; her companion and caregiver, Dean Cazzola of Loretto; brother, Gary Skowlund of Norway; and her uncle and aunt, Reuben and Elizabeth Synkelma of Ironwood.

Family will greet friends on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.

A memorial service will follow Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Michael J. Langlais, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran officiating.

Interment will be at Norway Township Cemetery at a later date.
