A male passenger was transported to Dickinson County Hospital for treatment, he added.

Celello said that an investigation determined that the motorcycle was westbound on M-69 when the driver lost control and struck a guardrail on the north side of the road.

After striking the guardrail, the motorcycle became airborne and both individuals were ejected.

According to Celello, speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the accident. Neither individual was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, he said.

Assisting at the scene were the Michigan State Police, Felch Fire Department, Integrated First Response Ambulance, Nordic Ambulance, and Cerasoli Towing.
