Three hurt in Iron County crash

IRON RIVER - Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon at U.S. 2 and Old Beechwood Road in Iron River Township, according to state police at the Iron Mountain post.

A vehicle driven by an 80-year-old Caspian man pulled into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by a 29-year-old Caspian woman, a preliminary investigation showed.

The woman and her two passengers were transported by ambulance to NorthStar Health System for treatment of injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, troopers said. The Caspian man was not injured.

The crash, which occurred at about 12:40 p.m., remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene was the Iron River Police Department.
