Millage renewals approved

CRYSTAL FALLS - Iron County voters have approved all three millage renewal proposals that were on Tuesday's August election ballot.

All three proposals passed by fairly large margins.

The Iron County Medical Care Facility's renewal of 1.5 mills for a period of five years for maintenance of effort and facility operations passed with 987 yes votes, 74.2 percent; to 343 no votes, 25.8 percent.

The millage renewal proposal for .27 mills for a period of four years for operations at the county's four senior centers passed with 1,106 yes votes, 83.2 percent; to 224 no votes, 16.8 percent.

The millage renewal proposal for .5 mills for a period of two years for operating, maintaining, and improving the Windsor Center passed with 628 yes votes, 72.2 percent; to 242 no votes, 27.8 percent.

Out of 9,472 registered voters in Iron County, 1,335 cast ballots for an overall turnout of 14 percent.
