FLORENCE, Wis. - A Norway woman is facing multiple criminal charges in Florence County Court for allegedly stealing and forging checks that belonged a Long Lake, Wis. family.

Falacia Marie Lunn, 29, faces three felony counts of forgery and three misdemeanor counts of theft.

If convicted, she could spend up to 18 years in prison.

The charges stem from a July 5 incident in Long Lake.

According to the criminal complaint in the case, Lunn is accused of taking three checks from a family's personal bank account for the Settlement Chapel in Long Lake.

Lunn allegedly forged signatures on the checks and used one to pay rent and one for cash. She attempted to use the third check to pay for her bond once she was arrested, according to the complaint.

The complaint further stated that Lunn was a friend of the family and that she had been at their home on July 5. The family had given Lunn $100 from the church funds so she could get medical attention for her child. While the checkbook was still out, Lunn allegedly took the three checks.

Lunn is scheduled for an initial appearance in Florence County Court on Aug. 6.
